Splatoon x Steven Universe

So here's a question i can't answer. Whats' up with all the Steven Universe x Splatoon posts? I do watch the show but i'm not sure if it was mentioned in an episode or what. i'm not to for into the series (ep 30-40) so i'm not sure if it's in a later episode. Thee best guess i can come up with is that Ronaldo Fryman mentioned about,"Anthropomorphic squids taking over the earth!" seems like something he would say. Tell me what you think! and here's some Steven Universe stuff i dug up from google.
